Not so long ago, there was a huge wolf pack which lived around the great Lake Nahal. However, when the Alpha of the Nahal Pack died, a fight for leadership commenced. Unable to decide a winner, three wolves (Boaz, who was the fastest; Conall and Jian, who were the strongest; and Akira, who was the smartest) decided to split the lands evenly.

Boaz took his swift wolves to the rolling plains of the North, naming his new pack Emer. Conall and Jian took their strong wolves to the hazardous plains of the south-east, naming their new pack Shakti. And lastly, Akira took her cunning wolves to the dark forests of the west, naming her new pack Ismene.

It was not long before the Shakti pack began to complain about their living situation. Although they prided themselves on their ability to survive, they longed for the soft Emer grasses or the shelter of the Ismene trees. When the other two packs refused to share, the Shakti pack grew bitter and now holds a grudge against the other two packs. While the Ismene's tried to keep peace with the Shakti's, the Emer's only laughed at their poor situation. A deep hatred between Shakti and Emer has arisen.

Ismene's Alpha, Akira, is not sure how long she can hold the peace with Shakti. They are dangerous because they are strong, and many of them stupid or dumb with bitterness. The Emer's refuse to acknowledge the Shakti's situation, and the Shakti's won't stand for it for much longer.

It's only so long before Conall and Jian strike out at Emer, and a war is the last thing the packs need with the prey supply running very low and a very, very harsh winter coming their way.
